Engineering Note — Thermal Design

Aluminum die-cast housing with integral heat sinks provide a thermal Rth below 8 C/W at the board-to-ambient interface. Constant-current drivers with surge protection limit inrush current to 15A for 0.5ms. Net result: LED junction temperatures 15-20 C below the rated maximum, extending phosphor stability and headlamp quality of light over the service life.

Series 1: Solar Wall Light — Motion-Activated Security

Self-contained solar wall light with 118 high-lumen 2835 LED chips, 3.7V 4000mAh lithium-ion battery, 5.5V 1.3 W monocrystalline silicon panel. Four high-lumen 2835 LED chips per module. Selecting an outdoor wall light has more to do with what is being illuminated, the environment in which an outdoor wall light is applied and the code to which it should comply, rather than the outdoor wall light itself. Facade & Architectural Accent

Narrow-beam up-lighting on all stone, brick or textured concrete. The effect should be a dramatic vertical wash with no spill- onto the windows above. Recommend using our COB series (15 or 24 beam angle).

Walkway & Entryway

Installation Note — Mounting Height vs. Beam Angle

A 15 beam mounted 3m high will give you a wall-wash strip about 0.8m wide. Mount the same fixture at 2m and you get a wall-wash strip of just over 0.5m, which is more dramatic but in terms of distribution you will need to set the fixtures closer to achieve it. We send you IES photometric files (.ies) for all of our models so that your lighting designer can run a simulation of your coverage in AGi32 or DIALux before he or she even picks up the phone to order. This is the sort of directional control that makes good architectural outdoor wall lighting different from just another generic fixture.

Lumens requirements for residential pathways is 100-200 lumens per fixture. Commercial facades and building perimeters require 600-3,000 lumens. Loading dock/security for parking applications need 3,000-6,700 lumens. The Guangqi GQ-DWL series provides 600-6,720 lumens based on six different wattage variants.
3000K (warm white) suits hospitality and retail facades. 4000K (neutral white) is the most popular for commercial entryways and walkways — it balances visibility with comfort. 5000K (cool white) maximizes visibility for security and industrial perimeters. Guangqi fixtures offer selectable CCT from 1700K to 6500K, so you can lock in the right tone at installation without reordering.
Mount decorative sconces at 1.7–2.0 m above grade for entryways. Wall wash fixtures for facade accent lighting perform best at 2.5–3.5 m. High-output security fixtures should sit at 3.0–4.5 m. Always confirm with your local building code, as mounting height can affect light trespass compliance.
Every Guangqi external wall lamp is IP65-rated—dust tight and protected from low pressure water jets in any direction according to IEC 60529. Our aluminum housings also surpass: 500+ hours of continuous salt spray on ASTM B117 cycle demonstrating no visible effects. The combination of IP sealing performance and extreme salt spray resistance makes them suitable for use on coastal boardwalks, tropical resort facades and industrial plant sites located near chemical processing facilities where moisture carries corrosive residues. For applications requiring IP66 (high pressure jet deflection) we offer that on some of our GQ-DW12 fixtures.

Up-lighting (GQ-DWL01 series) lights up the wall surface from below with dramatic façade accent. Up-down lighting (GQ-DWL02 series) shatters a beam into both sides, providing a balanced wash for corridors, walkways, building entries where ambient and an architectural effect are required.
Photocell sensor senses ambient light. If below a certain setting at dusk, turn on; at dawn, off. No switch needed.
Wattage depends on the application. Accent lighting on a Residential porch or garden wall requires 6-12W of just enough glow to create ambiance without disturbing neighbors. Pathway and entryway area lighting falls into 12-18W depending on how many foot-candles are needed in the wash area. Security and perimeter lighting around warehouses, loading docks or commercial parking garages generally are 18-24W attempts to comply with IESNA RP-20 guidelines for the surroundings of the building. Large commercial building facades look good with multiple 24W up/down wall washers spaced 3–4 m center-to-center providing column-free uniform vertical illumination from sidewalk to roof with no dull patches between fixtures.
