Z-GQ outdoor spot lights are available in five different product series designed to fit the specialized requirements of professional landscape, architectural, and commercial light projects. All fixtures use high output LED emitters with beam angles as narrow as 3 degrees and as wide as 120 degrees, for directable and flexible area or acccent illumination from a single shrub up to architectural facades. Our led outdoor spotlight fixtures are supplied to lighting designers, contractors, and project consultants throughout Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and North America.
What Is an Outdoor Spot Light?
An outdoor spot light is a small directional luminaire which concentrates its output into a tightly focused beam pattern of less than 45 degrees. Its optical strategy involves three steps: the LED chip acts as a high brightness point source, a precision manufactured reflector or lens assembly modifies the beam geometry to its specified angle, and a tempered glass enclosure offers weatherproof protection. This tight beam geometry, common to all led spot light fixtures, separates the luminaire from the floodlight variety which distributes a 60 degree or wider light pattern.
LED outdoor spotlight efficiency allows them to quickly displace halogen and metal halide halogen bulbs as lights of choice for professional illumination installations. Benefits are numerous: 80 percent reductions in power compared to comparably bright low voltage led halogen fixtures, a rated life of 50,000 hours that circumvents professional lamp maintenance, and instant full brightness at power-up without the warm-up time required of HID fixtures. Modern outdoor spotlights also provide highly refined color control, from warm 2700K to cool 6000K, plus RGB and RGBW custom color options and DMX512 digital addressability.

Materials & Weatherproofing
All Guangqi outdoor spotlights are made of die-cast aluminium for its high thermal conductivity and inherent corrosion resistance. Die-casting offers intricate heat-sink shapes with a large convective cooling area to keep junction temperatures below the 50,000 hour rated life of the LED chips. All aluminium housings are electrostatically powder coated – default architectural grey or black finishes, other colors may be specified, including high corrosion ‘marine grade’ for maritime / high humidity conditions.
Each optical window is made from tempered glass, transmittance 92% or greater, with high lumen transmission coupled with impact resistant to at IK08 rating. Silicone gaskets running between housing and lens generate a continuous weatherproofing barrier rated to IP65 according to the IEC 60529 standard. The first number ‘6’ classifies in relation to the IP numbering system; complete dust tight protection, no ingress of dust at all under negative pressure. The second number ‘5’ sets clear water jet expectations, tolerated at 12.5l/min from any direction throughout hours of every day. Hence our fixtures are suitable for very exposed areas receiving large volumes of rain, garden irrigation and high pressure cleaning.

We have a number of LED chip brands available so that we can meet the performance specifications while staying within the project budget. We evaluate lumen maintenance and color over the entire temperature range for each chip family.
CREE

OSRAM
130–150 lm/WGood performance in balance and excellent color rectification. The landscape light application is a very good and efficiency and identity.

Beam Angle Selection
Selecting the correct beam angle is essential to creating the desired lighting effect. A narrower beam packs a higher light output into a smaller projection onto the target, creating greater brightness; however, the coverage width will be more limited.
3°–5°
Long-throw facade lighting. Effective projection distance of 30 meters or more. Ideal for tall buildings and monuments.
15°–25°
Tree canopy uplighting, sculpture accent. Creates defined light pools with controlled spill for focused highlighting.
30°–60°
General landscape and signage lighting. The most versatile range for typical outdoor spot light installations.
90°–120°
Wide-area flood and wall wash. Overlaps with floodlight territory — broad, even coverage from a single fixture.
How to Choose the Right Outdoor Spotlight: A Buyer's Guide
The eight variables you should consider—and how to balance them against your needs—before selecting LED landscape spotlights. Getting it right at the specification phase is your best chance to save re-works and re-designs, when you are planning the project budget. Here are all the factors you might want to filter for a landscape lighting project.
Wattage & Lumen Output
Match wattage and throw length. 6W for < 5m. 36W+ for 15m+. Lumen output—not wattage alone—dictates brightness, useability. Well-focused wide-beams beat badly designed narrow-beams every time in the LED spectrum.
Beam Angle
Choose beam angle to balance depth and effect, mood and ambience. Narrow (3-12) for pop-out and drama. Mid (15-30) for wraps, general highlight. Wide (40-120) for wash and area-filling effects. Choose our simple-to-adjust GQ-SP029 to set in-situ- just the beam angle you need.
IP Rating
IP65. Top safety rating, top performance, top value. Limits ingress of dust and protect from water stream. Suitable for HDW, rain, irrigation, storms. Baffle if exposed to salt-spray. For direct salt-spray, specify IP66 and/or marine-grade paint coating.
Material & Build Quality
Aluminium diecast body with tempered glass screen. Die-cast aluminum is the standard fixture material for commercial outdoor spotlights, offering higher thermal efficiency—which directly increases the lifetime of your LED. Washdown resistant mounting hardware eliminates fixture failures: corrosion.
Color Temperature (CCT)
Warm white (2700K-3000K): offers welcoming ambience for hospitality, domestic and retail projects. Neutral white (4000K): balances façade, retail, branding and display schemes. Cold white (5000K-6000K): creates the impression of more lumens, so meeting security objectives. RGBW lighting for action and effect scenes in clubs, malls, stadiums.
CRI (Color Rendering Index)
Color rendering indicator, from 1-100. For document, poster, retail, art and branding schemes specify CRI 80+. For color from a branded façade or sign, specify 70+. For general scene-lighting use 70+; it’s a cheap production add-on for efficiency, not a transformer.
Control Options
This level of basic ON-OFF switching is appropriate for static scene lighting in domestic and retail schemes. Add additional dimmability, perhaps 0-10V or PWM, for additional scene-design flexibility without complexity. Choose digital DMX512 or RGBW control for show-adaption, scene scales, dramatic transistions.
Voltage: Low vs. Line Voltage
Low voltage (12V & 24V DC) safety when working in gardens. Easy changeability. Line voltage (120V & 220V AC) to avoid transformers, including longer cable runs, especially those exceeding one hundred meters in size (municipal, commercial).

For commercial facade projects over 15 meters throw distance, skip anything under 72W. The 3-degree to 5-degree narrow beam on our SP027 series reaches 30+ meters cleanly. Pair that with a DMX512 driver and you get precise, programmable control over every fixture in the array.

Thermal Management
LED lifetime is a function of junction temperature. Our unique heat-sink technology employ optimal fin geometry design for maximized heat dissipation and ensure that our LED chips run 20-30 Celsius degree below maximum rated temperature even in 50 Celsius degree ambient temperature. That is the reason our fixtures maintain the same light output for rated life of 50,000 hours.

8-Story Commercial Complex — Shenzhen
Challenge
Architect needed an 8-storey commercial building complex to be illuminated with a complete RGBW dynamic facade lighting system, the programmable color scenes as specified. Former HID system was energy intensive and without color control option.
Solution
We have shipped 48units of the 130W GQ-SP027 with narrow beam optics 3 degrees and RGBW DMX512 control to install in continuous ground-Recessed composition along the perimeter of a retail front building. Narrow beam optics give Crystal clear shadows to all eight stories towering above the ultra modern glass facade.
Result
This installation is color controlled by Luxis with a DMX control, result in 16.7million combined saturation color combinations with 40% energy saved over former HID systems.

5-Hectare Tropical Resort — Asia-Pacific
Challenge
This 5 hectare resort is powered by a failed 240W halogen system saving monthly energy cost of $2,800. Existing bulb fixtures require replacement every 3-4 months due to the humid tropics environment increasing operation and maintenance cost overhead.
Solution
This project was equipped with the 36W and 7W GQ-SP029 combining a professional 3 layer lighting approach of foreground accent lighting designing with 3-12W, midground tree and feature uplighting with 18-36W, and background perimeter wash lighting with 36-54W.
Result
Energy efficiency is now 65%. Tested on the 12th month of install, color temperature reading shows less than 3% variance has been maintained from the 1st sample data, with zero lamp changeover.

3km Linear Park — Dubai
Challenge
A 3-kilometre linear park along a creek in Dubai was installed with extremely hostile environment; ambient temperature above 50 degrees Celsius for some 5 months yearly, and corrosive salt humidity attack that previously caused fixture failures within 2 years.
Solution
All 86 number of the 24W GQ-SP029 combing with 8 number of the 100W GQ-SP028 were housed in marine grade powder coating Fihitih verified in Nobifal salt spray environment test confirmed 500 hours - over 200 hours minimum.
Result
With 18 months prior the said fixtures have experienced 2 summer cycles, and currently have zero failures. Salt spray test results proved housing integrity, and 65% of previous energy consumption was saved.

CE — LVD + EMC
C.E. certification demonstrates compliance with directives (2014/35/EU; 2014/30/EU) from the European Union governing electrical safety standards for equipment operating between 50 and 1,000 volts, accordingly.
RoHS 2.0
Complete adherence with, is Guangqi fixtures are fully in line with, EU Directive 2011/65/EU (RoHS 2.0), restricting the use of ten hazardous substances in all electrical and electronic instruments. Every material of and component in our supply chains are checked through our QC department with regard to the actual content specified by the RoHS.
IP65 / IP66 — IEC 60529
IP65 (IEC 60529) rating, which guarantees dust tightness and very low level of water jets resistance. Particular models can be improved to 66, which means high powered water jets would not penetrate into the body if the concept is needed for installations in environments commonly jet-cleaned.
